BILLBOARDS IN NEWTOWN SQUARE
BILLBOARD PETITION
The Bartkowski Investment Group (BIG) has applied for 3 billboards to be erected in Newtown Township.  The billboard faces are the following dimensions: 14ft. x 48ft. x 62ft high,  14ft. x 48ft. x 57ft. high, and 20ft. x 60ft. x 78ft. high.  The signs will be free standing, double faced and in a "V" shape.  Therefore, the total will be 6 billboards.  Basically, BIG is requesting permission to install along West Chester Pike two illuminated, double-faced billboards measuring 672 square feet in the 3100 and 3500 blocks and a third measuring 1,200 square feet in the 3500 block.

See the following article for information regarding the Township's first zoning board hearing on this matter: http://www.delconewsnetwork.com/articles/2009/09/24/marple_newtown_county_press/news/doc4ab79860f2df4066042489.txt

Our sign ordinance does not allow for this size signage.   The company is challenging the validity of sections of the zoning ordinance as unconstitutionally exclusionary.

Please completely fill out the petition found at the link at the top or the right.
The petitons will be collected, bound, and given to the Township for the public record. Thank you for your concern and willingness to fight for preserving our values in Newtown Township.
